Privacy Policy

Pardon Applications of Canada (“PAC”) takes extreme caution to ensure the discretion and privacy of client information. This information is collected solely for successfully and accurately completing the relevant application information required to process Canadian Pardons, Record Suspensions, US Entry Waivers, Criminal Record Destructions and other applications. PAC does not condone nor practice collection of personal data or information that is not relevant or unrelated to the services provided herein.

Personal information is any recorded information about an identifiable individual, and may include:

  1. name, address, telephone number or email address;
  2. date of birth;
  3. any identifying number, symbol or other particular identifier;
  4. information relating to financial transactions, including credit card number or bank account information; and
  5. correspondence that is implicitly or explicitly of a private or confidential nature.

By submitting your personal information to PAC, you give PAC consent to collect, use and disclose your personal information:

  1. in accordance with this Privacy Policy;
  2. for such other purposes as may be identified to you at the time of collection; and
  3. for such purposes as are permitted pursuant to applicable law.

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by providing written notice to PAC. However, please note that your withdrawal of consent may affect PAC’s ability to respond to your requests or provide services to you.

Your personal information is collected as required to enable PAC to provide services and/or products to you, now and in the future. PAC may collect personal information from you in person, over the telephone, by mail, by fax, or through the internet.

PAC may monitor and/or record telephone discussions when you call PAC (or any of its divisions), to enhance customer service, for training purposes and to confirm discussions with you. PAC may also operate video cameras in our facilities for the safety, security and protection of PAC staff, visitors and customers as well as for the prevention and detection of criminal activity.

PAC may from time to time provide your personal information to third parties that we work with to provide our products and services or who have a need to know the information for one of the purposes described above. This may include circumstances where:

  • disclosure is required or permitted by law or pursuant to a court order; or
  • disclosure to a third party to facilitate the provision of our products or services where your consent is obtained.

Third parties include various organizations with whom PAC works with to provide products and services to you, including contractors and other service providers, affiliates, and government agencies. PAC will not transfer personal information to third parties unless they have agreed to comply with all applicable privacy standards.

PAC shall have the right to use your personal information for the following purposes:

  • To provide products and services to you;
  • To manage, develop and improve PAC operations, products and services;
  • To comply with PAC’s legal and regulatory requirements and to ensure compliance with this Privacy Policy and the Website Terms and Conditions; and
  • For any other purpose required or authorized by law.

PAC does not collect survey data based on any identifiable information to any individual client or non-client, telephone inquiries, visitors to PAC office locations or visitors to the PAC website including free online evaluation applicants.

All data including digital and hard copy case specific information that becomes redundant or belongs to closed files or free online evaluations is promptly destroyed in an appropriate manner or otherwise in accordance with applicable law.

PAC will take reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up to date. If you wish to verify, update, remove or amend your personal information in PAC’s records, please notify PAC in writing at the address set out below. If you successfully demonstrate the inaccuracy or incompleteness of your personal information, PAC will amend your information as required. Depending upon the nature of the information challenged, amendment may involve the correction, deletion, or addition of information. Where appropriate, PAC will provide the corrected information to third parties that have access to your information.

PAC is committed to outstanding client support and will make every reasonable effort to resolve any concerns or issues which arise throughout the life of an active file. Upon written request, PAC will confirm the existence, use and disclosure of your personal information. You may request access to your personal information at any time. Please provide sufficient information in your request to enable PAC to provide an accurate account of your personal information. Depending on the nature and complexity of the request, you may be required to pay a fee before your request can be processed.

In certain situations, PAC may not be able to provide access to all personal information it holds about you. For example, PAC may not be able to disclose information if the record also contains references to other individuals, contains confidential information, or is subject to legal privilege. Exceptions to the access requirements are determined in accordance with applicable law, and the reasons for denying access will be provided to you.

PAC reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time.  Upon doing so, changes made will be promptly updated on this website and active clients will be immediately notified.
